Gabol Lab collaborates with Departure Lab, an  intensive program about social entrepreneurship

Last weekend, Social Nest celebrated the 1st edition of Departure Lab: an intensive three-day program designed to launch a Social Impact Startup. Gabol has collaborated with the winners' prize in this interesting initiative. This reinforces our support to entrepreneurship.

Departure Lab program began last Friday 27 with the introduction by Social Nest president, Margarita Albors. She told about Social Enterprise basic concepts and its positive impact on society. Then, participants did a dynamic networking and they continued with the presentation: 'Are you an entrepreneur?' by Toya Zuriaga and Luis Martinez. Later, mentors divided the participants into 7 working teams according to their interests and proposals. After lunch, the groups participated in the 'Value Proposition Canvas, Canvas Business Model and hypothesis generation' workshop, by Program Director Vicente Esteve. Finally, after knowing the guidelines for the design of the proposed project value, teams took a moment to discuss the first steps.

Saturday began with the testimony of the social entrepreneur, Candela Fernández and her project: Encicle Bicimensajeros. An energy injection to continue outlining the value proposition. After the 'Hypothesis validation' workshop by the innovation expert Miguel Tito, teams went to the streets and began conducting the first interviews with potential customers in order to design a product or service. The afternoon continued with the 'Measuring Social Impact' workshop by Raul Contreras. Teams learned new ideas and they entered a complex issue: measure the impact of social enterprises in society. The day ended with the Violeta Garin formation: 'How to improve your pitch?', and teams realized their value proposition.

The third and final day of Departure Lab, equipment breakfasted with co-founder and CEO, Siten Mandalia, who told about the solutions provided by Solaris Eternum according to the energy needs in Africa. After that, teams prepared themselves to their final presentation and awards ceremony. The winners of the 1st edition Departure Lab were INCLUSION, after seven very interesting proposals. INCLUSION is a social enterprise that seeks to connect companies with people at risk of social and labor exclusion. They want to promote CSR in business and society education through a social label friendly. INCLUSION had a super prize thanks to Gabol, Hawkers Co. and Tempe. We hope the prize help them to continue with the project motivation.
